21-Year-Old Killed, Second Man Critical After Stabbing at Brooklyn's Dyker Beach Park. Police Detain Person of Interest.

Two men were stabbed near the eastern corner of Dyker Beach Park in Brooklyn's Dyker Heights neighborhood on Saturday, shortly before 2 p.m. local time. One is dead. The other is fighting for his life.

The NYPD said officers from the 68th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting the stabbings near the intersection of 86th Street and 14th Avenue. Both victims had stab wounds to the body when police arrived. EMS transported them to Maimonides Medical Center, where the 21-year-old was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old remained in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

The department is withholding the deceased victim's identity pending family notification.

The NYPD confirmed a person of interest was taken into custody. That person's identity has not been released. No official motive has been stated, and the department described the investigation as ongoing.

The Post reported the 30-year-old was stabbed in the gut and the 21-year-old was stabbed in the chest.
