Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Ends Tonight: Big-Name Tech Mostly Around 20% Off, With 40-50% Cuts on Lesser Brands

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Ends Tonight: Big-Name Tech Mostly Around 20% Off, With 40-50% Cuts on Lesser Brands
Amazon's two-day Prime Big Deal Days sale closes at 11:59 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Several big-name items are discounted around 20%, while deeper cuts show up on lesser-known brands. Mashable says Black Friday usually brings the lowest prices of the year, though many of the same discounts are expected at both events.

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale is in its last hours. The 48-hour event began at 3:01 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Oct. 7. East Coast shoppers get a few hours after midnight to finish their purchases, per Mashable. Amazon has run the fall sale since 2022, and the deals are exclusive to Prime members.

The sale pitches steep discounts, though the savings vary by product.

The big names: closer to 20% than 50%

Anker's new MagGo 2 Pro magnetic power bank is $88, down from $110, a 20% discount, according to Popular Mechanics. The outlet's tester says the accessory is brand new and he began testing it less than two weeks ago. The discount applies only to the phantom gray variant. Popular Mechanics lists other Anker battery packs on sale too, including the Anker Nano Magnetic Power Bank at 28% off ($43, down from $60) and the Anker MagGo Power Bank at 20% off ($64, down from $80).

Samsung's Galaxy Buds3 FE earbuds are $94.99, down from $149.99. That is $55 off, but Tech Times says the discount applies to the gray variant only. Samsung's flagship Galaxy Buds4 Pro are $189.99, down from $249.99, a $60 saving that applies only to the black variant.

Shoppers should read the fine print: on several of these items, the advertised price covers a single color.

The 40-50% deals are on smaller brands

The deepest cuts tend to be on products outside the biggest-name tier. Global News's The Curator lists Razer's Kiyo V2 X webcam at $69.99, 50% off, and Soundcore's Boom 2 portable speaker at $107.99, 40% off. Fujifilm's Instax Pal digital camera is $69, 47% off, and Turtle Beach's Xbox Rematch wired controller is $34.99, 36% off. Shokz's OpenFit 2+ open-ear earbuds are $164.95, 25% off.

The Raycon Everyday Bluetooth earbuds are $53.18 instead of $79.99, a saving of $26.81, or about a third off.

TCL's Tab A1 Plus NXTPAPER tablet is $259.99, down from $399.99, according to Tech Times.

Mashable's live coverage says Amazon is "still dropping 50% discounts in the final hours." It notes the sale has brought price drops on Apple MacBooks, first-ever deals on new Bose headphones, and big discounts on TVs from Samsung, LG and TCL. It also frames the event as relief from this year's tech price hikes. A discount only helps if the starting price is honest.

The skeptic's rulebook

Tech reviewer Rich DeMuro warns shoppers against trusting the percentage on the banner. A product labeled 30%, 40% or even 50% off "doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a great deal." What matters, DeMuro says, is how today's price compares with what the product typically sells for. His test is whether the price is lower than what you have seen over the past three months.

That advice fits the numbers above. A 50% discount on a lesser-known webcam and a 20% discount on a new power bank are not comparable, and neither is automatically a bargain.

DeMuro also points to Amazon's own devices, including Kindle, Fire TV, eero, Blink and Ring, as products Amazon tends to discount pretty aggressively during Prime shopping events. Mashable says the top deals are usually on Amazon's own products, with discounts between 30% and 60% on Echo speakers, Kindle e-readers, Blink and Ring security cameras, Eero routers and Fire TV products.

Who gets paid when you click

Most of the roundups carry affiliate links. Popular Mechanics says it may earn a commission if you buy from a link. DeMuro writes that he may earn a commission and that he earns from qualifying purchases as an Amazon Associate. Global News's The Curator says the same of purchases through its links.

That does not make the prices wrong. It does mean the people recommending deals can profit when readers buy, whether or not the price is a record.

What comes next

Prime membership is required for the sale, and Amazon offers a 30-day free trial. DeMuro notes the trial renews automatically unless it is canceled.

Mashable says Black Friday is when you'll generally see the lowest prices of the year, but its shopping team expects many of the same discounts to appear at both events. Citing the number of price hikes and product shortages seen so far in 2026, it recommends doing holiday shopping early this year.

Prime Big Deal Days closes at 11:59 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Whether these prices return, and how much lower they go, will not be known until Black Friday.
