XRP ETFs Post Record $110 Million Weekly Inflow While Token Trades 20% Below Its August Peak

XRP ETFs Post Record $110 Million Weekly Inflow While Token Trades 20% Below Its August Peak
US spot XRP ETFs pulled in $110.49 million for the week ending August 28, the strongest weekly haul of 2026, even as XRP itself sits near $1.37, down roughly 20% from the $1.70 high it hit on August 22. Analysts are calling a chart breakout and eyeing $1.70 again, but that's a prediction, not a fact, and the token still needs to clear resistance it already failed at once this month.

XRP is trading around $1.37 on Monday, August 31, according to FXStreet and TradingView, down roughly 20% from the $1.70 high it touched on August 22. At the same time, US spot XRP exchange-traded funds just had their best week of the year for cash coming in.

The Money Is Real. The Price Target Isn't Yet.

Spot XRP ETFs took in $110.49 million in net inflows for the week ending August 28, according to SoSoValue data cited by BeInCrypto, Benzinga, and Coinpedia. That's more than double the previous 2026 weekly high of $60.5 million set in May, though it still trails the all-time weekly record of $243.95 million from November 2025.

Cumulative inflows since the funds launched in November 2025 now stand at roughly $1.66 billion, with total net assets around $1.44 billion, per SoSoValue figures reported across BeInCrypto, TradingView, and FXStreet. Bitwise's fund led the pack, pulling in about $59.95 million during the peak week and nearly $600 million cumulatively, according to Crypto Briefing. Franklin Templeton's XRPZ product added roughly $28.7 million that week and has taken in $462.86 million total, per Coinpedia.

On August 28 alone, the funds absorbed $26.2 million in new money, according to Yahoo Finance, even as Bitcoin ETFs saw $201.81 million in net outflows and Ethereum funds lost $102.18 million that same day, BeInCrypto reported. FXStreet counted that as the ninth straight day of positive XRP ETF flows.

The Price Isn't Following the Money

XRP fell while the ETF money kept showing up. BeInCrypto noted the token traded near $1.38 on August 29, down 2.3% in 24 hours and 7.8% over the week, even as institutional demand accelerated. BeInCrypto suggested funds may be buying into weakness rather than chasing strength. It's also possible large holders are exiting into fresh institutional demand without moving the price higher.

CoinMarketCap, cited by Yahoo Finance, put a harder number on the risk: a loss of the $1.35 support level could deepen the correction. FXStreet's technical read has that same $1.35 level sitting right at the 200-day exponential moving average, calling it the first real structural floor if the pullback continues.

Analysts Are Calling a Breakout. Two Outlets Can't Agree on the Analyst's Name.

Multiple outlets ran the identical quote: "Breakout Confirmed! XRP has cleared resistance. Next target: $1.70." Yahoo Finance and Crypto Briefing attributed it to an analyst posting as "Ali Charts." Coinpedia and Benzinga attributed the same line to "Ali Martinez." The quote appears to be a single social media post circulating with inconsistent bylines across outlets. The claim is a chart-based prediction from one X account, not a confirmed price movement.

That analyst's roadmap, per Benzinga, has XRP needing to hold the $1.35–$1.38 zone, then clear $1.60, $1.68, and $1.86 before a run at $2.19 becomes plausible. A separate analyst account, EGRAG Crypto, told Benzinga that a drop toward $1.00–$1.10 wouldn't break the bullish structure as long as XRP reclaims its rising 300-week moving average, currently near $1.03.

The Macro Backdrop Working Against the Chart Calls

TradingView reported that XRP's Monday dip came after Federal Reserve Chair Warsh reaffirmed a hard commitment to the 2% inflation target, a comment TradingView said pushed implied odds of a September rate hike from 35% to 57%. Bitcoin fell below $78,000 in the same session. Higher rate-hike odds generally pressure risk assets, XRP included, regardless of what any chart pattern says.

What Else Is Moving Around XRP

Outside the price chart, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse told the SALT Conference he expects the company to more than double revenue in 2026, driven by institutional partnerships tied to its RLUSD stablecoin, according to TradingView. RLUSD circulation on the XRP Ledger has passed $1 billion, and the ledger now hosts stablecoins from Braza Bank, Société Générale, Circle, and Schuman Financial. Ripple also says it processed about $16 trillion in transaction volume over the past year and has hired Joseph Thompson to lead a new tokenization push through Ripple Prime.

On the regulatory side, the US Senate is scheduled to vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15, 2026, according to Coinpedia. That bill would set clearer federal rules for digital assets. How it lands could matter more to XRP's price than any single chart breakout.
