Trump's MAGA Inc Commits $35 Million-Plus to Senate Races as Musk's PAC Opens Trans-Focused Ad Blitz

Trump's MAGA Inc Commits $35 Million-Plus to Senate Races as Musk's PAC Opens Trans-Focused Ad Blitz
Since Trump said on September 4 he'd put $400-500 million of MAGA Inc's roughly $1 billion war chest into the midterms, his operation has moved fast: a newly formed, linked PAC reserved $25 million in ads across six Senate races and one House race, and MAGA Inc separately committed $10 million to Ken Paxton's Texas Senate bid. Elon Musk's America PAC is opening its own blitz, hammering four Democratic Senate candidates over transgender sports policy.

Since President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on September 4 that MAGA Inc would spend somewhere between $400 million and $500 million of its roughly $1 billion war chest on the midterms, his political operation has started writing checks fast.

On Tuesday, September 8, the New York Times reported that a newly created group called No Going Back PAC Inc, which is tied to MAGA Inc, placed a $25 million ad reservation covering six Senate races and one House battleground, according to Political Wire's summary of the Times reporting. The bulk of that money is going toward the Senate contests in New Hampshire and Alaska. Political Wire flagged the group as a "mysterious new super PAC" that surfaced only recently, without detailing who runs its day-to-day operations beyond its ties to Trump's main super PAC.

Separately, an FEC filing submitted Saturday, September 5, shows MAGA Inc committing at least $10 million to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's Senate race against Democrat James Talarico, according to Breitbart. Half is going to ads promoting Paxton, half to ads attacking Talarico. MAGA Inc spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer said the group will hammer Talarico's tax record, calling him "High Tax Talarico" who "wants to take money out of Texans' pockets."

Before that Texas commitment, MAGA Inc's only sizable midterm outlay was roughly $827,000 benefiting a South Carolina Senate campaign, on top of about $18,000 spent on this year's midterm races and $1.7 million spent last year, per Breitbart's review of FEC records. The group raised approximately $401 million through the end of the second quarter.

The Texas race matters because Paxton beat incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in a May runoff, and Talarico beat Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the March Democratic primary, according to the Epoch Times. Polling has shown the general election close. Republicans currently hold a 53-47 Senate majority, and Cook Political Report rates roughly 20 House races as toss-ups, with 202 seats solid or likely Republican against 196 solid or likely Democrat, per the Epoch Times.

Musk's Money Returns to the Trans Issue

Elon Musk's America PAC, the group that spent hundreds of millions helping elect Trump in 2024, has opened its own midterm push with a culture-war focus, according to the Daily Wire. New FEC filings show more than $800,000 in independent expenditures last month, which the Daily Wire reported is the opening burst of an expected $100 million to $120 million midterm buy.

The ads target four Democratic Senate candidates: Alaska's Mary Peltola, Iowa's Josh Turek, Texas's James Talarico, and former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown. One spot attacking Brown says he "voted to let biological men play women's sports" and "backed taxpayer-funded sex changes on children." Another shows a transgender athlete playing basketball against Talarico, saying he "voted to let biological men play women's sports. Not fair. Not safe. Not Texas."

The Daily Wire also reported Musk met with House Speaker Mike Johnson in Texas to coordinate strategy on battleground House districts, and that his operation will lean on door-knocking and direct mail to turn out conservatives who typically skip midterms.

A Broader Money Flood, Not Just From MAGA World

The spending surge isn't confined to Trump-aligned groups. Reuters reporting carried by the Daily Signal found U.S. companies have spent an unprecedented $517 million on 2026 House and Senate races over the 15 months through the end of the first quarter, already exceeding the $461 million corporations spent over the full two-year 2024 cycle, according to data from campaign finance watchdog Public Citizen. Crypto, tech and online gambling interests alone accounted for at least $294 million of that.

Rick Claypool, research director at Public Citizen, told Reuters the scale is unlike anything the group has tracked before, warning that niche industry money crowds out debate on "cheaper groceries" and health care in favor of crypto and AI regulation fights. The counterargument, also noted in the Daily Signal's reporting, is that crypto, AI and betting firms are simply exercising the same political voice older industries like pharma and oil have used for decades, and that regulation fights genuinely affect those businesses.

None of the reporting here establishes wrongdoing by any of these PACs. Super PAC spending, including through newly formed vehicles like No Going Back PAC Inc, is legal under current campaign finance law as long as the groups file required FEC disclosures, which both MAGA Inc and America PAC have done. The open question is how much money still flows into the November 3 election through groups that, like No Going Back PAC Inc, exist for only weeks before spending tens of millions of dollars, and how much of that spending general election voters will be able to trace back to its actual source before they cast ballots.
