NFL Suspends Falcons Edge James Pearce Jr. Eight Games Over February Domestic Violence Arrest
The NFL banned Falcons pass rusher James Pearce Jr. for the first eight games of 2026 under its personal conduct policy, tied to a February arrest involving his ex-girlfriend, WNBA player Rickea Jackson. Pearce still hasn't been convicted of anything, he entered a diversion program, and the league suspended him anyway. That's how the personal conduct policy works, and it's working as designed.

The NFL suspended Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr. for the first eight games of the 2026 season on Friday, August 14, citing violations of the league's Personal Conduct Policy. The ban starts Sunday, August 30, the same day teams must cut rosters to 53 players, according to the Falcons' official team site. Pearce is eligible to return Monday, November 2, in time for Atlanta's Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid.
