Miami Airport Logs Show FIFA Requested VIP Escorts for Infantino's Family; Separate Report Alleges He Sought Help for Housekeeper's Work Permit

Miami Airport Logs Show FIFA Requested VIP Escorts for Infantino's Family; Separate Report Alleges He Sought Help for Housekeeper's Work Permit
Miami International Airport records show FIFA requested VIP protocol service for Gianni Infantino's wife and daughters, often on dates when he was not listed. Separately, the New York Post reported that he enlisted a former US Soccer president to help his Nicaraguan housekeeper keep a work permit. FIFA declined to comment on the housekeeper report, and no investigation has been announced. The election that decides his future is set for March in Rabat.

Since the New York Post's Nov. 3 report on FIFA president Gianni Infantino's Miami housekeeper, a second set of questions has opened over how FIFA resources were used for his family. Neither matter has produced a charge or an announced investigation. Both land as UEFA presses FIFA for documents and a challenger has entered the March presidential race.

The airport logs

Miami International Airport's protocol logs, released to the Post, list Infantino's wife and daughters 125 times since January 2024. The logs contain 95 records, many naming more than one family member.

On 63 of those records, Infantino himself has no entry for the date. His wife, Leena Infantino, appears 46 times. He appears 24 times.

The Post also saw internal airport correspondence in which FIFA requested the service for his daughters Alessia, Sabrina and Dahlia on a trip to Doha, "with their dogs."

Airport spokesman Greg Chin confirmed FIFA made the requests. Infantino heads a nongovernmental organization and staffers were available, so "the service was granted," Chin said.

Chin said the escorts cannot skip any customs or security step. He said every VIP request for a flight from abroad goes to US Customs and Border Protection for vetting. He did not say whether federal officers were told Infantino was not on the plane.

Two European sports-governance specialists told the Post the arrangement could violate FIFA's own code, which bars officials from using their positions "for private aims or gains."

Antoine Duval, a senior sports-law researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague, said it "could constitute an abuse of position," but only if Infantino asked FIFA to arrange his family's private travel. Arnout Geeraert of Utrecht University, who once chaired Belgian soccer's integrity panel, said: "By the basic rules of good governance, this is an abuse of position, an abuse of power."

The records do not show who made the requests for each trip, and Duval's finding depends on that. The Post said it approached FIFA, the State Department, CBP and the Department of Homeland Security for comment.

The housekeeper allegations

The Post reported that Yajarlin del Socorro Fernandez, 33, a Nicaraguan national, worked at Infantino's Miami home and stayed on his payroll after the Trump administration scrapped the parole program that covered her. The administration told people in the program in June 2025 that their permission to live and work in the US was revoked.

According to the Post, Infantino then asked Carlos Cordeiro, the former US Soccer Federation president, to use his contacts to help renew her C11 work authorization. Cordeiro was appointed in May 2025 as a senior adviser to the White House World Cup task force, which operated out of the Department of Homeland Security. The Post reported the renewed permit was issued in January 2026 and later withdrawn.

The Post also reported that Cordeiro had told an associate in May 2024 to list the associate's rental property on Fernandez's immigration filings. The paper reported that she in fact lived at One Thousand Museum, the Miami tower where Infantino lives. Her living arrangement was flagged when federal immigration agents interviewed her in fall 2025, the Post reported.

Michael Wildes, an immigration attorney who has represented first lady Melania Trump, told the Post that Fernandez should not have been able to renew the status after the program ended. "The everyday noncitizen has virtually no chance of getting the kind of re-parole and new [work permit] issuance that this individual received," he said.

FIFA declined to comment. None of the Post's claims about Infantino or Cordeiro has been confirmed by a government agency, and no one has been charged.

A separate, unverified memo

Nigeria Info said it received an anonymous memo and messages alleging that Infantino and his wife arranged for the housekeeper to be employed through a FIFA-linked company although she did no work for FIFA. The memo also alleges she lacked valid work authorization.

The memo claims she was on the payroll of a FIFA-affiliated entity from July 15, 2024. It says she was formally let go in October 2025 but kept living and working at the home. It adds that she was rehired by FIFA's Americas workforce arm on a $40,400-a-year contract running to Aug. 31, 2026.

Nigeria Info said it has not independently verified any of it. Its materials include a FIFA Miami letterhead letter dated Jan. 7, 2026, confirming full-time employment by FIFA (Americas), Inc. from Aug. 1, 2024 to Oct. 31, 2025. The memo's version of the permit timeline differs from the Post's in several details, including who supplied the address on the 2024 paperwork. Her current whereabouts are unclear.

Pressure from UEFA and a challenger

The allegations arrive while UEFA is pushing FIFA for three sets of documents. They cover the failed FIFA Forward Enterprises plan to sell a stake in the World Cup to private investors, the decision to award Donald Trump the FIFA Peace Prize, and Infantino's role in overturning the automatic red-card suspension of US striker Folarin Balogun during the World Cup, according to Goal.

FIFA promised full access last month, Goal reported. FIFA now tells council members, including English FA chair Debbie Hewitt, to travel to Zurich to view the "key" documents, with no photographs and no disclosure of what they see.

Former Tottenham defender Ramon Vega has announced he will run against Infantino. The vote takes place at the 77th FIFA Congress in Rabat, Morocco, in March. Goal reported that UEFA has about two weeks to settle on a candidate of its own.

What FIFA says about the airport requests, and whether any US agency reviews Fernandez's permits, are the open items. The Zurich document review will be the first test of how much FIFA's council members are allowed to see.
