Marjorie Taylor Greene Poses With Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, Joe Kent, Declares 'The Movement Has Begun'

Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a photo on X on Saturday, August 1, showing herself, her husband Brian Glenn, Tucker Carlson, Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, former National Counterterrorism Center director Joe Kent, and their spouses gathered around a table with cookies and milk, according to Hindustan Times.

The caption did the heavy lifting. "We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise," Greene wrote. "But he's betrayed us all. Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center. The movement has begun."

No party name, no platform, no filing with the FEC. Just a photo and a sentence that's now being read as either the birth of a real political realignment or a group chat screenshot with delusions of grandeur.

The backstory nobody's hiding

Greene resigned from Congress earlier this year after Trump pulled his endorsement, according to Newsweek. Massie lost his primary to a Trump-backed challenger, per the same report. Both have spent months publicly breaking with Trump over Iran, foreign aid, and the administration's refusal to release additional Epstein-related documents.

Carlson's been saying for about a month that he's working to "help build" a new political party, according to Hindustan Times, which quoted him saying he can't support a party "that's not loyal to the United States" and "puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens." He means Israel. He's said as much directly.

Trump has rejected that framing. Asked about the Iran conflict in March, Trump said, "If anything, I might've forced Israel's hand," according to Hindustan Times. He's also said flatly of Carlson: "He's not MAGA."

Loomer swings first

Laura Loomer, a Trump loyalist with a long history of picking fights inside MAGA world, wasted no time. "Marjorie Traitor Greene announces a new movement has begun with her, her husband Brian Glenn, Tucker Qatarlson, Thomas Massie…" she posted on X, according to Newsweek.

Loomer went further, claiming the people in that photo belong "on a government watch list" and are "amplified by foreign adversaries." She offered zero evidence for either claim.

None of the people Loomer named have responded publicly, according to Newsweek. Not every reaction was hostile, though. Infowars personality Owen Shroyer praised the group on X, calling them "the future leadership our country needs and American Patriots want," per Newsweek's reporting.

What's actually real here

Greene, Carlson, Massie and Kent met, took a photo, and Greene posted a caption accusing Trump of betrayal on foreign policy. Carlson has publicly stated an intention to build a third party. One Political Plaza's forum post treated the photo as confirmation that "MTG, Massie get onboard with Tucker Carlson plan to launch third party," but that's an inference, not a fact anyone in the photo has confirmed on the record. Nobody in the picture has announced a party name, a ballot strategy, or a launch date.

There's a legitimate policy argument buried under the personal drama. Greene, Massie and Carlson are making a coherent case: candidate Trump promised no new foreign wars, and they believe his handling of Iran and continued military entanglements broke that promise. That's a real disagreement over foreign policy, not just sour grapes from people who lost primaries or lost endorsements. Massie in particular has built a career on being one of the few consistent congressional votes against military authorizations regardless of which party held the White House.

The counterargument, which Trump has made himself, is that inaction or restraint carries its own risks, and that "America First" was never a pledge to zero foreign military involvement under any circumstance. Reasonable people can disagree on where that line sits.

What happens next depends on money and infrastructure, not tweets. Building a viable third party means ballot access fights in all 50 states, fundraising infrastructure independent of both national parties, and candidates willing to run under a brand new banner in the 2026 midterms or 2028. None of that exists yet. Carlson has talked about it. Greene has posted about it. Nobody has filed the paperwork.
