Who owns Unbiased Headlines
UnbiasedHeadlines.com, its mobile apps, and its Chrome extension are owned and published by Chaillan Publications, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Chaillan Publications, LLC is wholly owned by founder Nicolas Chaillan. No other person, company, fund, political organization, or government holds an ownership stake. No outside investor has board seats, veto rights, or any editorial role.
Founder
Nicolas Chaillan founded Unbiased Headlines. He served as the first Chief Software Officer of the U.S. Air Force and Space Force (2018–2021), has founded 14 companies, and most recently built and sold Ask Sage, an AI platform for the federal government. More on the Masthead page.
How we are funded
Unbiased Headlines is free to read, with no display ads and no paywall. It is currently funded by:
- The founder, through Chaillan Publications, LLC.
- Clearly labeled sponsorships (see Sponsors), including audio pre-roll and on-page sponsor attribution.
We do not accept funding from political parties, candidates, campaigns, PACs, or governments. We do not sell reader data.
Editorial independence
Ownership sets the editorial rules; it does not dictate individual stories. The rules our AI system writes under — full-spectrum sourcing, grounding to cited source text, an openly published bias score, and flagging one-sided coverage — are published on Our Method and Editorial Standards and apply the same way to every story and every outlet, including stories about the founder's former employers, industries he works in, or sponsors.
Sponsors and advertisers have no input into what we cover, how a briefing is written, or which sources are used. No sponsor sees a briefing before publication, and no sponsor receives coverage, favorable framing, or omission in exchange for payment.
Conflicts of interest
Where a story directly involves Nicolas Chaillan, Chaillan Publications, a company he founded or holds an interest in, or a current sponsor, we disclose that relationship in the briefing.
Accountability
