Editorial Standards
Sourcing
Every briefing is built from named, primary-where-possible reporting. Each article lists the specific source articles it was written from, with the publisher and a direct link, so any claim can be traced back to who reported it. Aggregators, search-redirect wrappers, and unattributable rows are rejected rather than displayed. Secondary sources are used to corroborate, never as the sole basis for a factual claim.
Full-spectrum balance
Sources are deliberately drawn from across the political spectrum for the same story, and the briefing is written from what every side reported. Where outlets disagree on a fact, the disagreement is stated rather than resolved silently. AI disclosure and human oversight
Unbiased Headlines briefings are drafted by an AI system that reads the cited source reporting and summarizes it under a fixed set of editorial rules. We disclose this openly because readers are entitled to know how what they are reading was produced.
The system is not unsupervised. Editorial responsibility rests with a human editor at Chaillan Publications, LLC, who sets and reviews the rules the system writes under, monitors published output, spot-checks briefings against their cited sources, and corrects or removes anything that misrepresents them. Automated checks additionally reject articles whose sources cannot be attributed, whose sources do not support the headline, or which fail our grounding and newsworthiness gates before publication. No briefing is published from an unnamed or unverifiable source.
Fact-checking and accuracy
A briefing may only assert what its cited sources assert. Drafting is constrained to the supplied source text, and grounding checks reject drafts that introduce entities, figures, or claims not present in those sources. Numbers, dates, names, and quotes are carried from the source reporting rather than restated from memory. Where reporting is contested or preliminary, the briefing says so.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and visibly. Reader-reported and internally-found errors are handled the same way. Our full policy, response expectations, and how to report an error are on the Corrections Policy page.
Separation of editorial and advertising
Sponsors and advertisers have no input into what we cover, how a briefing is written, or which sources are used. Sponsored placements are labeled wherever they appear, including audio pre-roll and on-page attribution. No sponsor receives coverage, favorable framing, or omission in exchange for payment, and no sponsor sees a briefing before publication. See Sponsors.
